I really like the last three panels, Robin!
Thanks Ed 😀
tried a couple variations and this one came out really well :3
So : degradation and try to kill ; that’s not good for you , girls . I bet your parents won’t be happy about it
Last panel : Nate becomes the holy knight to save lizzy
Holy light shines on Nate :p
Do it McThunderpants, convert her to the side of good and just
I’d like to see him pull that off as well, but this part is going to be the harder trick to accomplish. For one, she’s already tearing up and man dealing with an upset girl, it’s not an easy task! Two: trying to convince her to…. hmmm if not leave then at least put some space between herself and a couple of others whom she’s been friends with for years. That’s going to take some doing, something he’ll have to keep working at. I think the most he could do here real quick before security haul her off is plant a seed of doubt and hope it takes. We’ll see, next week could be a very important comic for future character building.
If you think back a few pages, you’ll find out that she’s more the voice of reason of that little trio, if and when he helps her to calm down, I’m more the positive she’ll be willing to switch.
Get to the good side, we have cookies xD
Just make sure Kaya doesn’t eat them all :p
But are they -chocolate- chip cookies?? 😉
There’s a chance to save Lizzie here
as she didn’t draw the hero’s ire;
she’s been drawn along by her ‘friends’
like an innocent bird on a wire.
She’s ready to move on I think,
seeing them partially for what they are.
Her immediate future is up for grabs;
she’s at the mercy of a basketball star.
The Butterfly emerges from the ugly cocoon,
her true beauty yet to be unfurled;
the noble knight Nate might have just
saved her for Cleo and her whole world.
You can come back from the dark side of the Force , young padawan : DO IT
Cavalry’s arrived
Lala gets her just desserts
‘Bout damn freakin’ time
Lizzy looks upset
She might get hauled off to jail
Though she did nothing
But Nate has a plan
He will speak with mister guard
So she don’t get popped
Maybe he’s in love
I am calling it right now
Nate and Lizzy shipped!
Nah. She’ll probably fall in with Rex.
I just now noticed the Precision F-Strike in panel three. Wow, that cunt has some anger issues.
Wouldn’t be complete with some aggresive language :p
Well done Nate, he was indeed just holding them long enough. And we may hopefully see a path for redemption offered to one of the girls yet (fingers crossed)! Two for two Nate? We’ll see how that goes next week!
All according to plan :p
Nate is just being a goody goody two shoes today, isn’t he?
Yeah, it happens sometimes xD
Gulag or Lhassa for “Lala”.
Salvation for Lizzie.
Let’s hope for the salvation at the very least :p
Oh my, possible redemption for Lizzy. Also I ship it.
Already shipping? xD
Never to early to ship. All it depends is if the ship will sail.
I’ve high hopes for Lizzy, but I also remember:
“What is most Contrary to Salvation is not Sin, but Habit.”
No matter how good her intentions, there are some of her friends who will fight to stop her from changing.
How she chooses to cope with this, will shape the direction of her future.
Very well said, it won’t be so easy.
[Robin]:
Of course not!
For better-or-worse, “easy” makes for rather boring story-telling.
🙂
Vindicated.
Also, Nate prefers blondes.
>:)
Who knows, he might prefer redheads :p
(Yes, I’m aware I’m just putting fuel on the fire at this point :p )
I don’t think Nate is going to so much be the “knight in shining armor to rescue the fair damsel” as he is going to explain the truth of the matter to the guard and let them know that Lizzy tried to defuse the situation, however ineffective she might have been. It was pretty clear she wanted no part of it but felt she couldn’t push her way in front of Lala.
Even if he isn’t doing it to score points with Lizzy, he has enough integrity to not want to see a person who is essentially innocent be punished just because of who she happens to be associated with.
That’s a good possibility, try and convince security and hopefully the cops to take it easy on her.
That’s indeed also a possibility.
Nate sees an opportunity to separate the marginally salvageable from the hopelessly corrupt.
That’s one way of putting it xD
Nate has some god-level skills.
Maybe not god-level, but he got skills :p
Those museum guards look kinda creepy, like secret police or something. Kudos to them for actually recognising that Nate was intervening, not assisting in the vandalism.
Larissa is really pushing that “blame everyone else for my own mistakes” thing.
And, thanks to his powers of observation, Nate sees that Liz may be redeemable.
When you know the value of such statue , you’re not happy if someone deteriorates it ………….
That’s what uniforms can do, I guess :p
well, as a wise man one told me, Karma, like Payback, is a B***H!
Yeah, it really is xD
Awww, Liz. 🙁 I feel really bad for her, I want to give her a hug. I hope Nate rescues/pulls her from the pit of punishment.
If you feel sorry for her, my job (for this page) is done :p
Nate is a 9 year old, and he’s doing his part!
Are you?
I think more he’s 15 or 16 years old
He’s a bit older than that :p
And that’s why you should be cognizant of your surroundings.
Looks like the others were just with her because of how she somehow managed to drag them along, and one looks sad or remorseful for some reason.
being aware of your surroundings does help, and not only at basketball in Nate’s case :p
I love the timing here! Nate mentions the security cameras just as the guards show up.
I think Nate has seen them , as they comes behind from “lala” ^_^”
That would explain the stall tactics. I’d bet money he had that dirt on Larissa well before he intervened. Time the reveal to really drive home how much trouble they’re in.
All according to plan :p
Hard to say anything that hasn’t already been taken, but I couldn’t agree more. Nate’s really gone all-out on this one, and hopefully he truly can find a way to get Liz to follow in Cleo’s footsteps and leave that toxic group. The other two seemed to be the leaders, and Liz and Cleo the hopelessly trapped followers. Maybe Liz can see the opportunity for a much more upstanding group of friends and at least make an attempt to be accepted into it. With Nate pushing for her, I feel like for everyone but Rex she’d fit right in. And the only reason I think Rex would stall is because I think he’d be reluctant to take anything Nate says unquestioningly. Great work as always Robin, glad to see justice so finely dished out. Keep it up, and as always, stay awesome!
Thanks Alpha ^^
Nate really did a number on Larissa here :p Now to get to work on case Liz :p
I disagree somewhat on the both of them being the leaders. It’s all Liz from what I can tell. Being a year older, and therefore a year cooler and a year more “right” put her in the leader role when they met. The other (who’s name I can’t recall because of all the dorra the explorer references) seems like the typical “lunch money” bigger kid bully that listens to Liz. And Larissa is the “homework monkey” they use so they can slack off.
Basically mirrors the closest thing I got to having friends in elementary, just without the rich kid. (I was the homework monkey btw)
That was supposed to be a response to alpha. Sorry about that.
No worries :p
You switched Liz and Larissa though. Liz is the blonde one ^^
I should really start proofreading these
Finally someone actually faces consequences for doing something bad. It’s my biggest complaint in anime that most stories seem like there is no law or police, people just as they want without consiquences. From Medarot Spirit when Kilobots destroyed property without getting in trouble to Gantz where bullies in school would literally pull teeth out of victims heads for fun and never were expelled or faced prison time. Sorry I went off on a tangent there.
But it’s good to see Nate was actually doing everything right to keep the situation from escalating further. And maybe he might be able to save Liz from the worst of this too.
Thanks ^^
Yeah, the ‘actions have consequences’ is something I try to obey in my stories. It’s indeed very weird when people get away with something they shouldn’t be getting away with in stories.
is anything fictional going to happen other than human animal hybrids, anything thats more than just the characters imaginations
Doesn’t seem that way. Sit back and enjoy the slice of life antics!
itd be cool if there was someone who wasnt born a hybrid turned into a hybrid
How about a natural cat being turned into a part-human? 🙂
why not both?
I just hope that the cat learns how to be civilized and there isn’t too much crude humor. theres also a chance the cat might reinforce hybrid stereotypes
Will it learn to flush? Or need a really big litter-box? 🙂
And…
Which brain type would it have? How much life training would it need?
…Can you say, “Complicated”, boys and girls? LOL
“Sir, do you have a minute? I’d like to borrow your tazer.”
“Don’t taze me, bro!”
Geez these kids be doing crazy stuff these days XD i hope u don’t go to juvenile jail larissa if that’s still a thing XD
Trying to throw a concrete ball at someones head… couldn’t that be thought of at attempted murder or attempted manslaughter or something?
