OOOH! Looks like Mr. Stargate may have been right last week!
Thank you! It’s nice to be recognized. When I said it I was thinking of Tony Stark in “Age of Ultron.”
It will be fun to see what this secret library room looks like; I’m looking forward to next week.
On another note, February 10 this year is the Chinese/Lunar New Year; we’ll be going into the Year of the Dragon. I’m sure Robin has something special planned for that time. Quick note, February 10 this year is a Saturday, I checked.
Panel 2: You’re the -only- one who doesn’t know, Kaya. 😉
Nice perspective work, Kai! It’s funny that, from this angle, Kai’s hair looks like the cap off an acorn, only red. 🙂
I like panels 3&4: Misha with the traditional tongue out as she digs the key out of her pocket, and the proud “Behold!” as she holds it up to the light.
And panel 6 as Misha sets them up for the big reveal! 🙂
A secret to be revealed;
it’s Misha’s secret place.
Behind a wall concealed;
a place of utter grace.
A place of total order
hides behind the wall.
Or is the accidental hoarder
about to take a fall?
Kaya and Kai enter
the holiest of holes.
Will Misha be a lamenter
or Kaya the quietest of souls?
Oh, yes…Kaya will definitely need to keep her voice down. But will she be able to?
Well done as always.
“…
Will Misha be a lamenter?
Or will Kaya turn her into a Dementor?” 😉
“Behold, and gaze upon the mighty key! With it we shall unlock a secret only a few know!”
next update: the key gets turned, and the bookcase swings forward to reveal the passage to the super-secret restricted section…..and YES that was a hogwarts reference. because books are magic!
Behind this unassuming wall is the door to the staff break room.
Oh, you tease…but I’m so looking forward to this.
Misha and Kaya are gonna get along fiiiiiine. They’re BOTH drama queens.
I can’t read “Behold!” without thinking “OPTIC BLAST!”

Also, aside from the cool perspective change in panel two, nice touch making their shoes different colors to account for the lighting.
And here I thought I was the only one who had that knee-jerk mental reaction to hearing “Behold!”
Misha has a flair for the dramatic and Kaya, you should know very well why Misha was looking at you. You need a muzzle, girl.
Why would a library need a secret room, one that requires hiding a lock behind a poster? Is that the right poster? If not, Misha is gonna make a Kaya, er.. Fool of herself while she searches for the right one. Hopefully Kai can keep his promise and keep Kaya in check.
No notes this week, unless we’re finally getting a new vote incentive.
There’s a similar deal with the library my mother had worked at for many years, just like this place, it had a combo room that was a study area/break area that was used by the GED teachers in the area rather than subjecting any adult to going to the high school for the classes. It wasn’t actually a “secret” but it was behind a heavy partition that looked like a wall and could be folded back for special events or larger classes. And yes, it was lockable. This was a loooong time ago, the early 1960’s this was used like that.
Oooh, a secret door! Those are always fun.
Congratulations to the newly married Mrs. Miller! (She was Miss Miller a few days ago.)
Nice Catch. Mrs. Miller actually always was correct. Kai just goofed at the previous chapter it seem xD
I just got a recipe in my inbox from Food Network called “Kaya Toast” and just had to share the link here, and it kind of looks like something Kaya might have come up with: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/kaya-toast-17173437?nl=ROTD_011024_featurecta&%24web_only=true&lid=odfujr746279
I’d like to try that, only I’d be a bit leery of the coconut.
Reminds me of what we used to call “Grandma Weller Toast,” except we just used butter & jam on the toast before cutting it into strips. 🙂
Little late, but suddenly thinking “The key!” from KH1. XD
