Why is everyone requesting characters? Did I miss anything? Umm… I like foxes. Of the nice variety. I mean, foxes are everywhere, but it’s rare to see one who’s smart and kind at the same time. I could go into more detail, but I don’t even know what this is for. :-/

I’m probably not gonna take any of the suggestions though. I do enjoy reading about them.

I know your way ahead of this but the background characters seem awesome! Something like an easter egg? Ill need to keep an eye out.
I’m still catching up with the archive and know this stream is pretty old; I just wanted to back-up Gabi as I like foxes too. 🙂 My main OC is a (mostly) gray fox, even though my avatar is a dragon. I also do some writing (mostly short-stories) and drawing (poorly!) and have OCs, including a totally made-up species called “Whikkkhkkt”s. Whikkkhkkts easily pass for foxes from a distance, but have some definite differences if you know what to look for. (They can NOT crossbreed with real foxes.)

Don’t be, I like that people jumped on it and started suggesting characters, makes it a little interactive. I might even take some of the ideas for background characters later on.
I know you probably won’t do this as a character (but it’s worth a try) do a teacher (if your gonna have a teacher character) that is extremely energetic (thing the squirrel from hoodwinked) and there’s like a hole in the side of his room shaped like him. Just an idea

At a stretch it could be the current 50 value tier for cameos.
That might be a good idea, I do need some more background characters so that I don’t end up drawing the same thing everytime :p

So when are the twins going to develop wings and take to the sky? Every true dragon I’ve ever come across has wings of some kind or another, Perhaps in this new city they should have a hybrid flight school. Just a though.
They won’t get any wings, they’re 14 already so I doubt they will start growing any wings at this age.

Just found the comic and I am loving it so far. Can’t wait to see how it goes.
Since there seems to be a character suggestion thing going on i like the idea of an autistic human kid that prefers to hang out with hybrids because the ‘normal’ kids pick on him while the hybrids treat him like one of them.
Sounds amazing…and also could make for some intresting panels.
Funny, I did have an idea like that. Not exactly like it, but kind of the same principle. It didn’t make it to the first 5 chapters but maybe it can come in later somewhere.
I like that Kai refers to his dad as “Commander” when (coincidentally?) his dad’s shirt is somewhat reminiscent of a Star Trek TOS uniform shirt. 🙂
How do you get your story going? do you script?
I do type out a script, but it’s nothing much. I mainly type out the dialogue and what happens in each panel after I got a general idea of what will hebben in the chapter. It’s short and contains the basic info. You might find that you work better with more detailed information or maybe even no script at all, that’s for you to experiment with 🙂
Excellent to see that someone else uses the term “Parental Units”. A pleasing word choice.
For background characters, there needs to be one that is almost entirely human except for one Extremely Obvious Feature. Like a Satyr, but with legs something other than a goat. Or maybe just someone with a narwhal/unicorn horn on their forehead. It’s not sharp, does nothing magical, but is just kinda… there. Makes sleeping awkward.
Then you need one that is Extremely Hybrid, and odd. Armadillo kid, complete with the back structure and lumbaric tail. Known to curl up when stressed. Will occasionally roll down hills, like a katamari.
Like father like kids. I guess the apples don’t fall far from the tree.
I like the militant dialogue, their family must be a real boot camp, lol.
