I know what that riddle is referring to, but I just woke up and I’m not good at riddles, so I can’t figure out what the answer would be
You’re ahead of me, and I’ve been up for two hours! 🙂 I’ve come up with the Bible and The Lord of the Rings, but nothing to actually solve the riddle. Although, I’m not sure Sphinx-Jin is actually finished with the riddle yet..
I’ll add an extra clue: “Lego”
The hospital
That last one would be when the twins and Jin first met. Nice little riddles.
That was my thought, too. The fall of the tower is here: https://www.twindragonscomic.com/comic/traitor/
completely forgot about that tower
Totally it. I suspected it would be something to do with the three of them, and I actually reread that part not long ago so I should have remembered. Well done.
That seems to be the answer. I suppose the increased power is about cooperation.
“Chapter” almost makes it seem like Jin knows he’s a fictional character, but I guess that word was chosen to make the riddle more mysterious, and because the verse required a trochee.
My life can be divided neatly into sections, chapters, and books. Does that make me a fictional character?
Does whether or not I’m a fictional character even enter into it? I think it’s more of a principle of organization.
But isn’t Astrid the one who came up with the riddles? How would she know that story?
She probably just asked Jin. She seems like she’s competent and understanding.
Since Astrid was researching a great way to host a party, she probably asked Cleo (and others) about the twins’ friends. From there, I can easily imagine her greeting Jin with professionalism, and then asking him about how he met the twins. Maybe it was from his telling the story that she got the inspiration for the riddles, the treasure hunt, and the whole thing!
Perhaps Astrid just simply left the final one up to Jin with some basic instructions like: make it something about yourself and the twins.
This may also already be the clue for their next stop: to the Hospital! (not for medical reasons)
This last riddle’s a toughy… There’s so many different possible references… “A chapter only known to three… Place of helping… Falling tower…” Hmm…
one hint, chapter 8
Kai’s the one with the brains,
answering all the puzzles
before any of the others
have even opened their muzzles.
(Except, of course, for Kaya,
who talks before she thinks.
Some of them are quite good
but this one’s missing links)
Two down but here’s the toughie;
left until last as they are.
They’ll work it through, no doubt,
and then it’s back in the car!
The answer is Johnny Cash. Because according to the great sage and eminent junkie Henry Dean, “Jonny Cash is the answer to everything.” And if you know this reference without help from Google, then you remember the face of your father.
Odd…I was told “Jesus is the answer to every question.”
Kai seems best suited for solving riddles. Kaya, however, isn’t very good at it despite how she seems to like riddles. Her answer was imaginative, though perhaps not the best thought out. She’s not the best on focusing and thinking things through. She’s lucky neither Jin nor Katsumi is going to enact the original Sphinx’s penalty for getting her riddle wrong even once, though it would be cute to see Jin playfully pouncing on Kaya (for once) and pretending to gnaw on her. It seems the last riddle is one that both Kai and Kaya can solve, almost no one else in their universe could.
Panel 3: There should be a comma at the end of “neck”.
Title text: The “x” should be capitalized.
No in both cases. the ‘x’ is part of an emoji. it indicates ‘eyes tight shut’ in humour over a big smile.
But it looks lopsided that way. It’s more even with two capital letters.
But harder to pull off with a standard keyboard, my friend. XD DOesn’t look quite right, does it?
It actually looks perfect.
Kai got two, so I think it’s only fair that Kaya should be the one to figure out the last one.
Here’s a riddle for dragons:
I come from under the hill, and under hills and over the hills my paths led – and through the air. I am he that walks unseen. I am the clue-finder, the web-cutter, the stinging fly. I was chosen for the lucky number. I am he that buries his friends alive and drowns them and draws them alive again from the water. I came from the end of a bag, but no bag went over me. I am the friend of bears and the guest of eagles. I am Ringwinner and Luckwearer; and I am Barrel-rider.
Who am I?
Me, Kai, and Kaya: “Bilbo Baggins!”
Correct.
I got it! but not gonna spoil it for you
Oh! I know what the answer is! Nice one Jin 😉
World Guide, paragraph 2: “Still others” sounds better than “Even others”.
Paragraph 3: “sandal style” should be hyphenated.
Headless horseman HAS a head. It’s not connected, but he has one.
If he has a head, then he’s not headless. He should be called “the horseman with the detached head”. 😉
The Decapitated Horseman!
Hey, if the bottle is a beer bottle then the foam is called a head
Red alert! Welsh Rat has expanded beyond the borders of the comment section and taken over the last panel of the comic.
Believe it or not, that was all Robin.
I know the answer to that third riddle 😉 Now it will be interesting to see next time if I got it right :3
I was thinking ‘a guitar’ for the second riddle, but come to think, I think the part withnthe tuning picks is called the ‘head.’
And I agree that I like Kaya’s answer. 😆
He can make it complete by ritually removing the costume, thereby “killing” the character.
Don’t understand why the legendary sphinx was that bothered when someone answered it’s riddle. Heh, pick another one.
My wild guess.
This refers to kai and Kaya’s recent history. Something that happened a little while ago.
Place of healing might mean the clinic where they were examined. Known to three: Kai, Kaya and Cleo?
It’s actually known to four. Jin is now keeping Katsumi a secret from them, rather than simply not mentioning her.
