Keeping the rules very simple so we have more room for the roleplaying aspect
And the results of the poll are in. I will take some time this week to make a summary of all the results and tell you what I’ll be taking away from it for the next year of Twin Dragons. In the meantime, here is a drawn result of the popularity poll. Kaya won by a noselength of Kai 😀
Chapter two and three are by far the most popular chapters for now. I’ll take that into account for future stories. Not too much though, since a lot is already planned ahead of time. 😉
In any case, of those chapters were the most popular, then you will definitely like chapter 8 when I get to that one. It will deal with one of questions that people have been asking since the beginning of the comic and will add some more backstory to the story as a whole. I’m looking forward to drawing that one, but we will all have to be patient until I get there :p

Zuri isn’t enough present in the comic . But she got two votes , even if : this making her in sixth position
For a cameo, she’s pretty popular though. She only appeared like three times in total so I think it’s pretty good that she got some votes 😀

About the poll , i think Rex is victim of the jerk role he’s played to Kai ; and Cleo , of her “money resolve all” mind . For my part , i see both of them as the serious counterbalance of the foolish twins

I think my favorite part of this are those “Bark Bark” sound effects when Benji is shouting XD
I think my favourite things about this comic are all those little things… The times with red tip of the ears, the variety of facial expressions, the pictures in the walls, or backgrounds that make the comic be that much nicer…
That said, kaya cheated, kai romero is best romero.

Poor Cleo. Just because you came in last doesn’t mean we don’t love you. You’re just up against other amazing characters. Interesting to see how everybody voted. If you guys had half as much difficulty with that question as I did, it just goes to show how awesome a job Robin does with developing these characters. Robin? I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Here’s to many more adventures for our beloved characters!

I also had trouble with that question. I almost never have -one- “favorite” for any question: color, car, cartoonist, actress, author, etc. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Ignoring the GM is a time honoured tradition. As is the GM making use of those often ignored comments.
Wish I had remembered to vote, personally, I like Cleo over Benji, her personality has a lot to explore, though I do agree with Kaya as no. 1. And chapter 3 was my favourite, cause it featured those two.
Yeah… Rex. This chapter looks to add a bit more character growth to Rex, as his role in the last two chapters did not help him. So it will be interesting to see where he goes as a character.
Rex has a lot of story behind him that is yet to come up in the comic. It will take a while to come up as well ^^’
This chapter should at least give some more insight in who Rex actually is, since we only saw him in a basketball setting yet.
Benji is rich! My first DM used Lego figures for characters and paper printouts with stands for monsters. The play board was a giant whiteboard with a grid of dots permanently marked on it, such that he could draw rooms for us. My second DM had us bring our own playing tokens and had pieces of paper with letters on them for monsters, and his play board was lots of sheets of paper.
Time has passed . Now there is special dices , rulebooks , geo books , creatures books , races books , master screen , etc , etc
I played D&D in 2015-2017. I don’t think things have changed that much recently.

On the other hand, bards are useful for in-game knowledge.
Warriors with horned helmets seem to always have 1 broken horn. I guess they can’t be bothered to splurge on the repair bill?

I’m surprised Rex beat Cleo in the poles. I figured we didn’t know him well enough for his hidden character depths to compensate for his jerkishness.
I also regret not voting for zebra-girl just put a spotlight on her. XD Nice to know Nate got a vote even though he only got the one off-panel line.

Ben: Next, you decide on your race. You can be human, elf, dwarf, things like that. Each race has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, an elf gets a bonus to dexterity, but loses one to strength. Dwarves gain two constitution, but loses one dexterity and one charsima, and are, well short. Here’s a list of races and their characteristics.
Kaya: Hey, there’s no dragons or snake-people or werewolves on the list.
Ben: No, the point is your trying to play as someone else.
Rex: Besides, I’m not a werewolf. I don’t get more and less furry as the moon rises and falls. What you see is what you get: all the fur, all the time.
Cleo: No monthly cycle for you. That must be nice. [ Idea! ] Did people come up with the idea of werewolves to cover PMS?

Benji: Those are not set up to be player races. The point is to be somebody you are not; let’s stick to this list.
Kaya: [ Flipping through the book ] Dragons, dragons, dragons. Ah ha! Dragons. Wow, there’s a lot. 15 feet tall. Wow, they get huge. Ooh, this one sprays poison gas.
Kai: That one must have been based on Kaya 8 hours after taco night. [ Catches a figurine that had somehow become airborne ]
Benji: [ Pleading ] Guys!
After I post, I realized:
1) Benji said “you’re” not “your” in his second line.
2) It has been at least a couple of weeks since Kaya liberated Cleo from her old “friends”, because of the time it took for Kai to train at basketball. But still, Kaya may not have experienced Cleo’s PMS just yet.
Do snakes and dragons even get PMS? How often are they fertile? Is that part of their (or any hybrid female’s!) physiology more human or more animalistic? (I’m guessing more human, considering the way Robin’s been doing things in-comic so far.)
I think it varies, or some physiologies might split the difference. A bear hybrid might not hibernate, for example, but might be able to self-induce a deep torpor, or their sleep cycle would include some very deep depressions in respiration and heartbeat without deleterious effects. (I imagine some parents of bear hybrid cubs probably called 911 because they thought their babies had SIDS…and then the kids woke up as if nothing had happened. Some pediatric somnography studies would lay some fears to rest.)
Both of these teen-aged reptile-type females are sporting breasts so I am thinking their reproductive systems are much more human than even other mammals who don’t bother growing large mammary structures until they get pregnant, not at puberty. Definitely not reptilian. So I would think that human-style PMS could come along for the ride.
1) lycanthropy was an explanation of lunacy and unfettered rage. It was believed that the moon can cause madness, the closer to full and the bigger in the sky the more pronounced the effects. The animalistic imagery was usually symbolic of a man who couldn’t control his anger and lashed out irationally “like an animal”. Sort of the opposite of vampires, suave, greedy people who knowingly sacrifice others for their own benefit. Couldn’t quite find anything connected to pms (at least not in Europe, there are dizenz of where wolf types.
2) I couldn’t find anything about reptiles in general having pms, there may be a fringe case somewhere that I passed over. As far as reptilian biology manifesting in that particular biological system it would probably mean sterillity unless with another hybrid with the same condition. Mammal types might hybridise easier but unless whatever causes hybrids changes their appearance without changing their DNA reproduction will probably be a problem once the first generation of hybrids reach adulthood.
Well that took a dark turn… And my break is over.
Okay, how many of them are going to play elves and call them “Hylians?”
Kai: “Wait…you’re using dots as stat measurements. Does that mean we’re using the White Wolf d10 system? I thought this was ‘Catacombs and Drakes!'”
Rex: “What’s this about wolves?”
Kai: “No, White Wolf. It’s a game studio. They did this ‘World of Darkness’ system with vampires, werewolves, mages, changelings, that kind of stuff.”
Benji: “I thought you didn’t play RPG’s.”
Kai: “No, I didn’t play ‘Catacombs and Drakes.’ Anyway, the werewolf system had other changing breeds, so you could have player character snake people and dragons.”
Benji: “But that’s not what we’re playing…”
Kaya: “Then could you at least have some consistency with your game systems?!”
Benji: “Stop breaking the fourth wall and looking at my imaginary demonstration graphics!”
Ahhhh. The joys of this comment section. xD
