Kaya, look out! Events are in motion that cannot now be undone.
Sing your heart out, and let that fire burn, Kaya!!!
A random pattern today.
Singing fast and loud,
strong and proud;
Kaya rocks
them to their socks.
This flame girl?
It’s the same girl?
In the frame girl,
you reign girl!
Who’s gotta get her?
A mystery in play?
Nomi or Kaya; who’s better
at the end of the day?
I’ve always wondered what Kaya’s voice sounded like.
Thanks for including the song for reference! The music is awesome!
Rex, do you just have no idea what a remix is? Because that’s basically what Nightcore is, it’s a low-effort* remix that lets a song have greater appeal to certain listeners.
*my personal experience; your mileage may vary on the effort required
Also, part of me assumes the Patricks in the livestream comments have some sinister motive… but another part of me assumes they’re just trying to flirt.
I know what a remix is but I haven’t heard of Nightcore either. Or better said, I didn’t know the term for it.
Nightcore is a song with the tempo sped up, Daycore is a song with the tempo slowed down.
Yes, I looked it up and heard a few. Just listening to Elan both ways is enlightening how different it can sound.
Yeah… Those messages do not pass the vibe check.
Hmmm, is this the good kind of attention or bad kind Kaya is getting from the mystery texter?
As it was Kaya, I was expecting something like:
Rooms on Fire – Stevie Nicks
Burning Down the House – Talking Heads
We Didn’t Start the Fire – Billy Joel
Fire and the Flood – Vance Joy
Is it just me, or do the words, “We gotta have her” sound ominous to anyone else?
Also, the song in the YouTube video below today’s comic reminds me of “Dirty Little Secret” by The All-American Rejects.

Dammit papi kaya romero can sing uhh what song is she singing
Kaya’s reputation for breathing fire is better known than her reputation as the “Loud Girl” or for her singing and dancing.
Why am I not surprised that this is Kaya’s reputation? You set an attacking bully on fire one time and you never hear the end of it. At least Rachel and Agnes think she’s cool because of it. It’s Kaya’s turn to shine and sing her dragon-y heart out. How loud can she get,has loud as Nomi the Mysterious Masked Contestant 17? Will Kaya’s singing bring down the house or at least cause a pseudo earthquake? I wouldn’t be surprised if Kaya let out a bit of her natural pyrotechnics when she’s holding a long note.
A mysterious trio with cartoon starfish as profile pics are interested in Kaya? And because of her reputation for pyromania? Why do I get the feeling this may not end well? They sound like they’re from Evergreen High (Kai and Kaya’s school), so I doubt they’re up to anything criminal. Maybe they’re members of the drama club and they want to enlist Kaya as an actor?
* as loud as Nomi-, er, the Mysterious Masked Contestant 17?
Darn typos.
A very interesting choice of song for Kaya. I like it.
TBH, I don’t really like the nightcore version, but I like the original version by Nighwish a lot and have also heard it live at one of their concerts. So I recommend listening to the original, too. And I have to admit that the nightcore version probably fits Kaya better. It’s still an unexpected choice.
I listened to both versions and I must say the mood of the regular version fits the tet better. But I expected something fast from Kaya.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m getting the feeling that Kaya is about to get invited to be Lead Singer of a band…
“So she can sing, gets the audience going….”
Qualities needed for the people up front in a band. No point showing up if you can’t sing, and if you can’t get the audience on board then all you’re doing is providing background noise as everyone does their own thing…
“……And sets fire to her enemies? She’s perfect!….”
Probably want her to put a little extra spice in the show with her fire breathing…
